George Washington - oil on canvas, 1993 (30"x25")

$0.00

Copy from the original by Gilbert Stuart.  Originally painted from life in 1794 in a barn in the Germantown section of Philadelphia, I copied this great American portrait at the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, DC. He was painted alongside Martha, and these portraits were never finished as Washington died soon thereafter. This is the source for the image on the dollar bill.  If you look at the front, you will notice the image of Washington is reversed, which is caused by printing the image after engraving.
